Your Body Is Your Temple
Your body is a direct result of your genetics, what you eat and how much you work out. Well you don't have much control over your DNA, but you do have control over your diet and how much you work out. If you try to starve yourself to get thin you may be successful at first. However, you are doing damage to your body and eventually hunger will overcome you. That is why it is better to eat smart by eating healthy.
Balance Is Key
Excellent nutrition cannot be attained without balance. You will not need to forget about your favorite foods, desserts, and special treats. You have to make sure you strike a careful balance, so that you don't gain too much weight. Fruits, vegetables, and lean meats should be eaten, as well as vitamins or other nutrition supplements. You can reward yourself with treats and desserts after you have done very well with your nutrition through the week. Assuming that you exercise enough to burn off the excess calories, you can maintain a desirable weight just by making sure that you have at least one week of healthy eating between one or two days of "splurging".
If You're Overweight
If you're already overweight and you want to lose that weight, proper nutrition along with exercise is the only way to do it. For those who already eat a balanced diet, try eating smaller meals more often. (such as six meals per day) and take at least a half hour of exercise 3 to 5 times a week, and that weight will come off in no time. There is no easy fix for weight loss. You have to work at it. However, you don't have to do like the commercials and infomercials show; where everyone's sweating and panting until they die. If you have balanced nutrition a daily walk around town will burn enough calories to help in shedding those unwanted pounds.
